Crest Gates

Crest gates are bottom hinged gates used for precise water level control. They are typically hydraulically operated to allow for opening during power outages in flood events. The hydraulic cylinders may be located either below the crest gate or at each end of the gate atop the adjacent piers depending on site conditions. Steel-Fab's crest gates can also be electrically operated.

Our crest gates are available in a range of sizes, and consistently maintain precise flow and water level control for flood dams and hydroelectric plants. Rugged rubber seals are provided at each end and along the bottom of the crest gates to efficiently minimize leakage.
